How they are different from regular Bounty Tournaments:
Mystery Bounty Tournaments have two phases. In a regular bounty tourney, you get paid a bounty with a known dollar amount each time you knock out a player. In a Mystery Bounty, bounties are only paid in Phase 2 and the amount you win is a surprise every time! Only Phase 2 qualifiers get to tap into the bounty prize pool, which makes each Mystery bounty reward much bigger than players are used to.
All Phase 2 players have a chance to knock someone out on the first hand of this final phase, win the top bounty prize, and take home more than the winner of the tournament. Is that not ‘edge of your seat’ exciting?
During the initial phase, the prize pool is split:
-50% of the Phase 1 Buy-ins go to bounties.
-50% of the Phase 1 Buy-ins go to the tournament prize pool.
During Phase 1, your objective is to survive and grow your chip stack during the first day of play, as the mystery bounties are only awarded during Day 2. You can play an unlimited number of Phase 1 flights, and whatever chips you have at the end of each Phase 1 flight will be added to your Phase 2 starting stack.
During Phase 2, the prizes are now set, and you will now earn a random bounty for each player that you eliminate. Because all bounties are randomly assigned to players, you could win the top bounty prize of the tournament on your first knockout of this final phase. This is why it is important to grow your Phase 2 starting stack by playing a lot of Phase 1 flights, so you are in a position to cover your opponents from the beginning!
Multiple knockouts mean multiple bounties!
In Phase 2, the bounty prizes are revealed. Knock out your opponents and receive a mystery bounty from each one. Eliminate multiple players to stack up bounties and increase your winnings!
